The Supplies We Need
Starting in July of each year we hold a major drive to help our local community become engaged in our work and help OKE collect basic school supplies for re-distribution in our community. Together we can help our local children in need.
Operation: Kid Equip is open year-round. We welcome the opportunity for donations, drives and campaigns throughout the year.
These are the types of new items we’re seeking to collect:
- Composition Notebooks (wide ruled; usually have a marble-like cover)
- Copy Paper (reams)
- Crayons (8, 16 or 24 count)
- Erasers (rubber; sometimes pink in color)
- Glue Sticks
- Glue Bottles
- Looseleaf (wide ruled)
- Markers (washable)
- Pencils (No. 2)
- Pens (black, blue or red)
- Rulers
- Scissors (blunt tip)
- Spiral notebooks (wide ruled; 70 pages)
- Backpacks (new or gently used)
All of the items we collect help stock our Teachers’ Annex, and are also used in the backpacks we distribute directly to students throughout Southeastern Michigan.
