Playing Operation: Kid Equip

We received this e-mail today from one of our teachers. Her story made us chuckle. We’re still grinning and want to share the smiles with you, too.

Dear Operation: Kid Equip,

We were having reading centers in my classroom this week. As I was reading with one of the small groups, I looked across the room and noticed Kaitlyn and her classmates were stacking books on a desk for our quiet reading time. They put more than 50 books on that one desk.

One of the kids said, “Let’s play school!”

Kaitlyn said, “No, let’s play Operation: Kid Equip!” She then pointed to each student in her small group saying, “You can pick out a book…and you can pick out a book…and you can pick out a book…”

As Tyler picked out a book, he asked, “Do I get a free pencil, too?”

I had to chuckle at my little ones. You really make an impact on them!

I couldn’t wait to share this story with you. Thanks for being an important part of my classroom.
