fees & costs

There are costs involved in getting the books from the donor to you.  Even when our books are offered for free, getting them to you has costs.

As a distribution center, there are development and support costs, transportation, warehousing, and of course, natural program expenses like rent, utilities, insurance, etc.

We will never charge for books on a per-book basis.  To help meet the transportation and warehousing costs, we will start seeking reimbursement for actaul shipping costs, and by assessing a small pallet cost recovery fee as follows:

  • Organizations requesting delivery will receive an invoice to reimburse the actual costs of shipping.  Depending on the size of your request, we ship the cheaper of freight (pallet) or UPS.  The shipping invoice must be paid prior to shipping.
  • All organizations, regardless of pickup or delivery, will be charged a pallet cost recovery fee as follows:
    • 1-100 Books Request – $10 cost recovery fee
    • 101-250 books requested – $15 cost recovery fee
    • 251-500 books requested – $20 cost recovery fee
    • 501 or more books requested – $25 cost recovery fee

All fees are due within 30 days of invoicing and must be paid prior to pickup or shipment.  If you are picking up your books, you will be able to schedule a pickup appointment after the fee is paid.
